"Innes dons ... many faces ... all with such switched-on energy and love for his craft that everything he did left the audience in stitches and invested in his utter conviction." - Theatrepeople, 2019
David S. Innes is a writer, former maths teacher and comedy performer, all wrapped up in a waistcoat and hat. His writing will frequently betray his passions of Chemistry and mathematics, The Simpsons, Doctor Who and other media with cult followings. In Rob Lloyd he found a kindred spirit for all things nerd. He has been delighted to have joined him for numerous tribute shows, hosting events at The Doctor Who Festival (2015) and performing on stage for such shows at Dracula (2019) and Mina Harker Monster Doctor (2021). |
Pedagogical Consultancy
Aside from writing adventures for the stage, David is an experienced mathematics and science teacher and former Learning Specialist. During the period of remote teaching between 2020 and 2021, David created explanatory videos on YouTube for VCE Mathematical Methods and Further Mathematics for his students. Now he uses his teaching, voice-over and video editing skills to create products for 3P Learning.
David also works in schools within the Victorian Department of Education. He provides guidance and feedback to teachers to improve mathematics pedagogy. David can also be seen presenting webinars and in-person professional development as part of the Teacher Learning Network. He also is a frequent presenter at the annual Mathematics Association of Victoria Conference and has been an assessor for Mathematical Methods for the VCAA.
