30 Years of Jurassic Park
ABOUT THE SHOW
Performed on: 26 August, 2023
The Butterfly Club, Melbourne Jurassic Park changed the face of cinema. Sometimes, Innes and Lloyd like to focus their tribute shows on little cult hits like Red Dwarf or Labyrinth. Other times we look at mainstream hits like the first Harry Potter film or Die Hard. Jurassic Park falls into the latter category. Despite the huge shadow it casts on the pop-culture landscape they are a lot of precious little nuggets of obscure information and yes even some Fun Facts for Innes Lloyd to mine for comedy gold and our audience’s entertainment. |

30 Years of The Late Show
ABOUT THE SHOW
Performed on: 19, 26 November 2022
The Butterfly Club, Melbourne This is the one-off show that became a two-off show. The demand from audiences to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Austrailan The Late Show was so great the first show sold out in a couple days. A second show was of course added. Not bad for a 30-year-old, Melbourne made, sketch comedy/variety show that launched the careers of some of Australia’s most influential people in the entertainment industry. Lloyd was a fanatical fan of the show in the early 1990s. Innes was introduced to the show by Christian Bizzarri. So it was a delight to share the stage with Christian again, sharing our own ‘Late Show’ stories and of course belting out some of their classic parodies. |

31 Years of The Simpsons In Australia
ABOUT THE SHOW
Performed on: 25 June, 2022
The Butterfly Club, Melbourne Originally meant to be presented in the middle of 2021, however as a result of extended lockdowns and restrictions from the Covid19 pandemic this show was cancelled and then ultimately remounted a year later. Both Innes and Lloyd are devout Simpsons fans, having grown up watching it on endless repeat on Australian television. There isn’t an Innes Lloyd rehearsal where a Simpsons quote isn’t mentioned or recited. In fact, there is at least one Simpsons reference in every single Innes Lloyd show, some obvious, some obscure. Matthew Hadgraft and Christian Bizzarri returned yet again, as the original songs of the Simpsons are just as iconic as the show itself. |

50 Years of Monty Python
ABOUT THE SHOW
Performed on: 5 October, 2019
The Butterfly Club, Melbourne The revolutionary sketch comedy show Monty Python’s Flying Circus was a massive influence on the life and comedy styling of Innes. For Lloyd they were also hugely important in his comedy education growing up. So it was a no-brainer that during the 50th anniversary of the premiere of the show that the Innes and Lloyd would take the time to present a thoroughly loving, yet well-meaningly disrespectful tribute to ‘The Pythons’. Joining them for the first time was passionate Python-lover, the delightfully talented Matthew Hadgraft on piano/vocals and Christian Bizzarri was welcomed back as well, with his charming stage presence, excellent guitar skills and lovely singing voice. It was a joy to have this sold-out crowd join in with the songs and the endless sketch quoting. |

40 Years of The Muppet Movie
ABOUT THE SHOW
Performed on 22 June 2019
The Butterfly Club, Melbourne The original Muppet Movie from 1979 is one of the most important movies in Lloyd’s life. It shaped his philosophy on comedy and life in general. He had always dreamed of one day getting the chance to sing those incredibly heartfelt, funny and catchy songs from the movie on stage. Innes and Lloyd invited life-long friend Christian Bizzarri, another hardcore Muppet fan, to join them to not only talk about what the film meant to him but also sing the songs with them. The result was a truly magical night with the entire crowd enthusiastically joining in, unprompted to sing along with the opening number Rainbow Connection. |

War of the Worlds Anniversary Broadcast
|
ABOUT THE SHOW
Performed on: 31 October, 2018
The Butterfly Club, Melbourne Lloyd has always been a huge fan of Orson Welles and his Mercury Theatre 1938 radio presentation of HG Wells’ War of the Worlds. Innes has always been a huge fan of Jeff Wayne’s 1978 musical adaptation of War of the Worlds. Lloyd has always wanted to present a live recreation of that infamous Halloween broadcast. Innes has always wanted to celebrate that iconic recording on stage. 2018 was not only the 80th anniversary of the Orson Welles version but also the 40th anniversary of Jeff Wayne’s album...everything was aligning for the next Innes Lloyd one-off tribute show. Innes came up with the idea of blending the two together for a truly unique celebration of both version and indeed the original text. After his fantastic work on our Princess Bride and Labyrinth shows, Caleb Garfinkel returned yet again to provide the musical score. This show presented excerpts from Howard Koch’s radio play script accompanied by pieces from Jeff Wayne’s score. Fun Facts about the album were provided by Innes and Fun Facts about the radio play provided by Lloyd. As a bonus, a ‘behind the scenes’ passage from the play The Panic Broadcast was included with Innes playing Orson Welles and Lloyd playing John Houseman. |

REVIEWS
"You don’t have to dig very far to discover the background facts that are littered throughout the show, but there were many oohs and ahs elicited from the large crowd ... However, this doesn’t distract from the clear passion that Innes Lloyd bring to these stories." - Narelle Wood, Theatre Press. "The duo were having fun, and in turn, so was the audience. Even those unfamiliar with the content had something to enjoy here, whether it was the well-done homage to the broadcast, the music that accompanied it, or just the guys having a good time sharing their love of ‘War Of The Worlds’, it was a cool and fun way to spend a Monday night in Melbourne, and an absolute treat for fans ... Innes and Lloyd should be congratulated for taking what is a very niche piece, and still managing to pay a funny and enjoyable homage to it." - Kris Weber, Theatre People. |
